A "shopping theme park" opened last week in Hanam, South Korea, close to the capital, Seoul.
The Starfield, the country’s largest shopping mall, has Korea’s first sports-orientated arena entertainment complex named Sports Monster. The mall has 460,000sq.m of shopping and entertainment, with 750 stores, with Aquafield, an indoor-outdoor water park located on the third and fourth floors.
Sports Monster, also on the third and fourth storeys, is a sports and entertainment arena which will enable kids to don electronic gear for a virtual workout to playing basketball on a court using light emitting diodes to show the court markings. There are many virtual reality devices available to up to 400 users of the arena at a time.
