Major UK bookmaker William Hill has announced the departure of its CEO, James Henderson, to be replaced as an interim measure by Philip Bowcock, the CFO.

Henderson has over 30 years’ experience in retail, online and international business and his departure comes just two weeks ahead of the announcement of Hill’s first half results. It is thought that the results will show the group roughly in line with the operating profit of £260m-£280m for the full year.

Philip Bowcock’s immediate target will be to continue the turnaround of William Hill’s online business.
