As reported by InterGame last week, Novomatic has acquired the business of Playnation from Palatine Private Equity for an undisclosed sum.

Playnation

Playnation, which is based in Runcorn, Cheshire, is a provider of family entertainment solutions to the leisure industry with 20,000 amusement machines across 1,700 UK sites.

Zane Mersich, CEO of Novomatic UK said: “Playnation is a perfect fit within the Novomatic UK group of companies and their respective brands.

“It will form an important part of the business and help to shape our future strategy in the UK leisure and gaming space.”

Playnation CEO Adam Hodges, who will remain with the company, added: “The Novomatic brand is widely acknowledged here in the UK and around the world for its capacity to innovate and drive up standards.

“Playnation shares those values and, as such, is an impeccable match for the Novomatic UK business model.”

• Novomatic’s activities in the UK acquisition market may not pause, for the company is now being linked with Midlands-based operator Keeday Leisure. The operator has around 2,000 pieces of equipment and was founded in 1970 by Keith Baker, with the current day-to-day running of the business in the hands of his sons, Charles and Nigel. Again, no confirmation has been issued.
