A new agreement between Saudi-based Al-Othaim and Al-Futtaim Group is to see the opening of a new FabyLand family entertainment centre at Dubai Festival City Mall later this year.

The 70,000sq.ft FEC will boast a “futuristic” theme, combining rides, games and a new concept, My Town, that promotes physical activity among young guests.

The new location is expected to open in December and will form part of the mall’s AED1.2bn expansion programme.

“FabyLand will give Dubai Festival City Mall visitors the edge in family entertainment options and it will complement the destination’s overall retail and leisure offering,” said the mall’s general manager, Brad Merchant.

Mohammad Attia, general manager, business development – GCC at Al-Othaim, explained that with Al-Futtaim, the company has found a “solid partner” with which its FabyLand concept will make inroads into Dubai’s mall scene.

“We are excited with the prospects presented to us from our partnership with Al-Futtaim Group and for the continued brand awareness for FabyLand as a result of opening at Dubai Festival City Mall,” he said.
