The prospects for a new German trade show for the amusement and gaming industry look brighter.

German Show

The New Gaming Expo has between 40 and 60 “very strong potential exhibitors,” says Stephanie Gerresheim, joint managing director of the show organisers, My Expo GmbH.

NGE will take place from January 20-21 at the Jahrhunderthalle at Bochum, Germany. The show is open to classic gambling, online, betting, casino, services, vending machines and machines for the street market.

The principals of My Expo were both formerly with Reed International, the organisers of the IMA trade show, which traditionally provides the shop window on the German street market. IMA was not held in 2013 and will not be held in 2015 or 2016 in face of turbulent times in the German arcades industry where the local authorities are taking stringent action to curb the industry.

Gerresheim and her partner, Matthias Templin, both of whom formerly worked on IMA, had identified many of the smaller exhibitors at the German show who were unhappy at having no annual platform from which to provide their goods and services to the industry.

“There are many who have shown strong interest in our plans,” said Gerresheim, “and who tell us that they will be prepared to back the show with exhibits. We are now in the latter stages of planning and contracts will be issued within the next few weeks.” Further details on the show can be found on the website here
