Those familiar with the personalities of older times in the international industry may remember George Kuper. He sadly died suddenly on January 27, aged 73.

George Kuper

He was very much an entrepreneur, running amusement machines in South Africa for many years with his Play Meter company and later becoming a frontrunner closely involved in the early start-up years of limited payout gaming machines in the country.

He was an immensely popular character with many friends in the global business and fondly remembered by his peers and family as the man who brought Pac-Man to South Africa. His larger than life personality was evident by over 300 friends at his funeral, despite a same day burial in accordance with Jewish law and he will be remembered warmly by those fortunate to meet him.

Our sympathy to his wife, Vicki, and his three daughters, Natanya, Nicole and Ariella.
