One of the industry’s fastest growing chains of family entertainment centres, Main Event Entertainment, saw a 52.7 per cent increase in revenues in the first half of the financial year.

Parent company Ardent Leisure Group, based in Australia, reported that its US FEC arm recorded revenues of US$61.6m, while EBITDA rose 55.9 per cent to $13.3m.

“This outstanding result has been driven by strong constant centre performance, where earnings before property costs grew by 9.2 per cent, and excellent results from new centres that continue to materially exceed constant centre revenue and EBITDA averages,” said group CEO Greg Shaw.

Five new Main Event centres have been opened since July last year, bringing the chain’s portfolio of locations to 19.

“Main Event’s earnings in the second half will benefit from full contributions of these new centres and one additional opening in the fourth quarter,” Shaw added.

Three additional sites have been contracted and negotiations are ongoing for a further four locations for openings in the second half of the 2016 financial year.

Main Event offers its Eat.Bowl.Play concept at each of its venues. This typically comprises bowling, billiards, laser tag, food and beverage outlets and a variety of amusement games.
