The company has applied for the relevant licences in its home country under the R Franco Digital name.

At present, companies need to apply for one to three general licences in order to enter the online gaming market, while companies may also apply for single licences for operating specific games. R Franco Digital plans to apply for the relevant permits to cover betting – specifically sports betting – and other games, such as slots, roulette, blackjack and baccarat.

The project is being led by the company’s department for new business development under Alejandro Casanova (pictured).

The move into online gaming is the “logical step” for the company, it said.
