As the trailer for the new Minions animated movie made its debut recently, Whitehouse Leisure confirmed it has a pan-European deal in place with Universal for plush and redemption prizes based on the popular characters.

Minions

This agreement is an extension to the company’s existing Despicable Me licence and will continue into 2016. It is developing both amusement and gift-quality plush Minions in a variety of sizes ahead of the movie’s release in June next year.

In addition, it is planning to launch a new range of redemption prizes, including ceramics, key chains and stationery.

Said Ian Whittingham, business development executive at Whitehouse: “Despicable Me has been a standout toy line for us this year and this is without a movie release. I strongly believe that this success is down to the brand’s widespread appeal, attracting customers in to win the loveable Minions product.

“We’re really excited about Universal extending our licence and the new range is really taking shape. I can only imagine that the product will be hot property in the run up to the movie and throughout the year.”

The Minions range is expected to be available from May next year.
