Sega is to have its largest ever presence at next week’s IAAPA Attractions Expo, with a booth covering more than 3,000sq.ft and boasting its latest video title, Showdown.

“We’ll cover 3,600sq.ft with an exciting variety of state-of-the-art amusement games, compelling attractions and licensed and proprietary redemption merchandise that’s sure to be the talk of the show,” said president and COO Paul Williams.

Based on the console game DiRT Showdown by Codemasters, Showdown is being presented in the company’s Special Attraction Cabinet.

The player sits in front of one of the cabinet’s four curved 100ins hybrid laser LED HD projection displays, while its Pivot Motion Technology ensures they sway from side to side as they race around the course.

The game features a dashboard with working dials, warning lights and switches, and a 5.1 surround sound system. Players can choose from 20 racing machines and take part in a variety of different types of race.

“Showdown represents the next generation of video attractions,” continued Williams. “It possesses breakthrough technologies never before seen in a video amusement game. It’s really more an experience than simply playing a video game and I believe Showdown Special Attraction will set the new standard for what an attraction piece can and should deliver.”

Sega is planning to present a total of 29 titles at IAAPA, including six licensed ones, across 12 categories of amusement machines.

The IAAPA Attractions Expo is taking place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, on November 18-21.
