The UK-based company scooped the award for ‘most creative licensee” for its Despicable Me 2 products.

The awards recognise the work of Universal’s global licensing partners and those that work alongside the production company to deliver an array of products for the amusement, leisure and retail markets worldwide.

“Universal works with a whole host of revered companies around the world and we are therefore delighted to be recognised for our creative efforts in developing our wide range of successful Despicable Me products to the amusement and leisure industry,” said Whitehouse Leisure MD Phil Setter (pictured). “DM2 and Minions required a lot of hard work from every part of our company from the early development stages, to our factories, warehouse and distribution operations. We’re incredibly proud to have delivered what must be the biggest license opportunity for the amusement industry of the past 20 years.”

The company is planning a number of “exciting and innovative” licensed plush and redemption products in 2015, he added.
