Innovative Technology’s note validators have received European Central Bank approval for their ability to recognise genuine and counterfeit euro banknotes.

The NV9 USB, NV10 USB and NV200 banknote validators were all tested at the De Nederlandsche Bank in Amsterdam, Netherlands, last month and gained 100 per cent for their ability to accept genuine euro banknotes and reject counterfeit ones.

The test results are published by the ECB to assist banknote users when selecting appropriate counterfeit detection equipment.

Andy Bassam, customer support manager, said: “The ECB test results independently acknowledge the reliability of our note validator range. We are constantly developing our global currency dataset files, adding new issue notes and known frauds, to ensure we maintain our leading acceptance rates across the complete Innovative Technology product range.”

Last month the company released euro dataset files containing the new €10 note, which will enter circulation in September.

“By releasing these currency files four months before the new €10 enters circulation,” continued Bassam, “we aim to ease the burden for operators and manufactures, providing sufficient time to update validators out in the field.”
