Unofficially launched in December 2013, MEI - now part of the CPI Group - has announced the availability of a new bill validator specially designed for the TouchTunes Virtuo jukebox.

With its release, operators can replace the existing stock bill validators on the jukebox OEM equipment with MEI-branded technology.

The AE26Q2 model combines an AE2600 MEI validator, which validates notes $1-$20, with a new thinner bezel entry. Its custom form and down-stacker configuration make it an easy fit into TouchTunes Virtuo jukeboxes without any modification necessary to either hardware component.

“The rising popularity of the Virtuo and the need for reliable play enabled through payment identified the opportunity for a compatible MEI solution in the market,” said Chris Felix, national amusement OEM sales director for MEI. “Prior to this tailored product, installation of an MEI validator in the Virtuo required the purchase of a kit and over 30 minutes for installation. Now, upgrade time is minimal and requires the removal of only four screws.”
