The word from the Netherlands is that the news broken by InterGame on Friday - referring to the Loontjens arcade chain being acquired by Novomatic - is correct.
Our additional information suggests a purchase price of around €20m for the nine arcades, but we now know that it includes a substantial street operation.
With AWP machines in locations other than arcades in the Netherlands totalling around 19,000, the Novomatic holding is now a high percentage of that, probably 4,000, having recently bought the Pierre de Jonge operation.
A new Loontjens arcade – the 10th – was due to be opened in Den Helder today.
