Kiosks are versatile and highly useful but they need to find their place in a world being moulded by smartphones and be prepared for society’s growing cashless habits, finds Ian Donegan.

THERE is a great deal of overlap between the amusement and the kiosk industries. Payment technologies and touchscreens are common in both. They often incorporate games and betting software and are frequently in arcades to provide tickets and change to customers.

That being said, the kiosk industry is undoubtedly much larger than just the amusement sector and with the evident overlaps in mind, there is a lot that amusement could learn from the kiosk format.
