A ground-breaking ceremony was held earlier this month in Gangkou Town, Zhongshan City, starting work on what is to become a hub of the Chinese game and amusement industry.

Zhongshan

An estimated 60 per cent of the country’s games and amusement equipment are made in Zhongshan, Amusewind reports.

The new Guangdong Game and Amusement Industry City is intended to be an influential industrial centre. The planned site covers an area of 277sq.m and will represent an investment of CNY2.6bn ($420m).

There are already 61 companies signed up to the project, with these expected to provide around 5,000 jobs.
