Revenue for the month stood at MOP29.6bn ($3.7bn), up from MOP26.1bn in the same period last year. Last month’s total was the second highest this year, behind the MOP31.3bn recorded in March.

For the first five months of the year, the Chinese enclave has seen gambling revenue increase 14.2 per cent to MOP143.2bn. Analysts have attributed May’s improvement in revenues to a strengthening domestic economy and several public holidays.
