The Responsible Gambling Trust is being officially launched today.

On April 1, the GREaT Foundation and the Responsible Gambling Fund merged to form the new body, which adopts the fundraising and commissioning roles of the two organisations.

This is intended to streamline the process and maximise the money raised from the UK gambling industry to tackle problem gambling.

The charity plans to raise at least £5m each year, with its fundraising target set at £6m for 2012/13. The Trust is being officially unveiled at Aspers Westfield Stratford City, the UK's largest casino.
