IGT and Konami Gaming have signed an agreement under which Konami will adopt IGT's Universal Game Adaptor for an IGT systems solution.

This will enable IGT's Service Window functionality on Konami slot machines.

The technology allows IGT's system to manage picture-in-picture functionality on enabled Konami machines. It caters to the immediate needs of casino customers, as it is a great resource for operators who are not yet ready to move to a full, open standards-based games-to-systems floor, or intend to mix legacy slot machines with newer, native G2S machines.

These communication features allow operators to deliver floor-wide bonuses, loyalty programmes and services to players directly in the primary game window instead of the traditional interactive LCD. Similarly, the Konami Casino Management System will be able to manage the picture-in-picture capabilities on enabled IGT slot machines using the UGA.

"We are very excited to join with IGT in utilising the UGA on Konami slot machines," said Steve Sutherland, COO/EVP of Konami Gaming. "This technology will deliver new ways for operators to communicate with their players. We are also pleased to join in the push to have a more collaborative relationship with our competitors that we hope will shape the industry moving forward."
