Gaming revenues in Macau increased 22 per cent in February, continuing the enclave’s impressive performance this year.

Analysts had predicted that growth would slow this year yet Macau’s casinos recorded gross gaming revenues of MOP24.3bn ($3.04bn) last month, 22.3 per cent more than the MOP19.8bn recorded a year earlier.

For the first two months of the year, the Chinese enclave’s casinos have seen revenues improve 28.3 per cent.

Last year, official figures showed that Macau’s casinos generated gross revenue of MOP188.34bn, a 42.2 per cent increase on the previous year’s total.
