The UK government ought to revisit the idea of developing a super casino, it has been claimed.

Following research showing the UK is lagging behind many other countries when it comes to ‘gambling tourism’, Warwick Bartlett, chief executive of Global Betting and Gaming Consultants, has urged the UK government to rethink its strategy towards casinos.

"I do think it is appropriate for the UK government to take a fresh look at the casino legislation," he told InterGaming. "A super casino with a reasonable gaming tax in Manchester or London could create many worthwhile jobs and create tourism. A super casino isn’t just about gambling. Great restaurants, convention centres and spas give wide international audience appeal."
