August was a strong month for table games at the US state of Pennsylvania's casinos, the state's Gaming Control Board revealed.

Gross revenue from the average 918 tables in operation on a daily basis during August was $54.75m, $20m higher than the same month in 2010 when there were 282 fewer tables in operation.

Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem generated the largest share of revenue with $10.77m, while Presque Isle Downs and Casino, which operates the fewest tables, achieved revenue of $1.79m.

In total, the casinos contributed tax of over $8.8m from table games operation.
