A delay in the process of putting together the final terms of the Isle of Man's second casino licence means an announcement is unlikely to be made by the government until August.

In April, the government began seeking expressions of interest from developers for a casino resort complex intended to attract visitors from overseas.

InterGaming has learned that a formal announcement is now due in the next few weeks.

The island presently has just one casino, located at the Palace Hotel in Douglas, which largely caters to local residents.

It is anticipated that the new property is to be combined with other leisure facilities, possibly a golf course, as well as a four or five-star hotel.
