Benchmark Games has launched a mobile application for its top selling game Pop It For Gold.

"We feel this will only enhance and encourage the end users of our games to visit the entertainment amusement centres and play Pop It For Gold more often," said Benchmark’s Al Kress.

"As always, the object of the game is to pop the balloons as quickly as possible. The app allows one to play the game alone or see how they stack up against their friends. Apps have become a new medium of providing entertainment and information via mobile devices and we feel this is a great game to launch as our first one. If Pop It For Gold becomes as popular as we think it will, there will be more to come. In the first two weeks, more than 5,500 of the apps were downloaded worldwide."

The Pop It For Gold app is available for the iPhone, iTouch and iPad at a one-time cost of $0.99.
