Entertainment Gaming Asia, formerly Elixir Gaming Technologies, is to develop a new casino in the Cambodian province of Kampot, near to the Vietnam border.

The new property, which will be operated under the company’s Dreamworld brand, forms an important part of the company’s overall strategy for growth within the Asian market.

"The Kampot project is a strategic step in the company’s growth strategy to become a leading owner and operator of regional casinos in the Indo-China region," chairman and chief executive officer, Clarence Chung, told InterGaming. "Located near the Vietnam border in the province of Kampot in Cambodia, our casino will cater to visitors from the major cities and tourist destinations in the area."

The new 10,000sq.m casino will include table games, such as baccarat, roulette and dice games, as well as a variety of electronic gaming machines. The initial phase of the development is expected to open in the fourth quarter of this year with up to 14 tables and 25 machines. Additional casinos floor space will be opened if there is sufficient demand.
