Following a £1.3m refurbishment, Grosvenor Casino in Plymouth, UK, is to open later this month under the Rank Group's new G Casino brand.

It is hoped the relaunch of the casino and the availability of new entertainment facilities will encourage non-gamers to visit the property.

The 22,000sq.ft venue will offer 13 gaming tables 28 electronic gaming terminals and 20 B1 category £4,000 jackpot slot machines when it is unveiled on April 27. In addition to roulette, poker and blackjack, players visiting the casino will also be able to compete in tournaments staged in a new 100-seat poker room.

"We’re delighted to be making the transition from a Grosvenor Casino into one of the new generation of stylish, contemporary G Casinos," said general manager Jay Pillai. "The G Casino format is all about giving people a great alternative for a night out and the Plymouth casino will do just that.

"We’re working hard to remove some of those barriers often associated with casinos and believe the new-look venue offers a fun and friendly atmosphere which will be welcomed by the people of Plymouth."
