Roy Yanase, lead animator and long-time employee of Play Mechanix in the US, has passed away at the age of 38.
Survived by his wife Akemi and their unborn child, his parents Hiroshi and Mutsuko, as well as his sister Eri, Yanase’s life was sadly cut short on February 3, 2011.
He joined Play Mechanix in February 2001, where his talent in drawing and animation made an immediate impact on the games being made by the company. Players around the world have been entertained by his talent while playing games such as Big Buck Hunter Pro, Big Buck Safari, Johnny Nero Action Hero, Aliens Extermination and Terminator Salvation.
