The site of a former casino in Aberdeen, Scotland, has been out up for sale following the liquidation of its operator.

The International Casino on Market Street had its licence suspended earlier this year when the city’s licensing board found it to have been in breach of certain rules.

The building is now on the market and is expected to fetch more than £1m.

George Stewart, one of the directors of the company that ran the casino, told the Press and Journal that he was no longer interested in the gaming industry.

"The industry is over-regulated and it’s time to move on," he told the newspaper. "We did something, we invested a lot in it, but it’s time to get out."
