Hong Kong businessman Tim Lambe has acquired a 30 per cent stake in the Fitzwilliam Casino and Card Club, one of Ireland's largest gaming properties.

Lambe bought out several other investors to take one of the largest shares of the Dublin casino.

David Hickson, managing director of the club, told the Sunday Business Post that Lambe has a "great deal of confidence in the club’s future."

The Fitzwilliam club offers live roulette, blackjack, punto banco and brag, as well as hosting tournaments in a dedicated poker room. Although casinos are technically illegal in Ireland, such properties are able to operate as members only clubs.
