Steve Wynn has pulled out of a casino development project in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but has not ruled out involvement in future projects in the state.

The company announced on April 8 that it had terminated all agreements and negotiations over investment in the Foxwoods Casino project earmarked for the city.

"We are fascinated by the legalisation of full gaming in Pennsylvania and stimulated by the opportunity that it presents for Wynn Resorts, but this particular project did not, in the end, present an opportunity that was appropriate for our company," Wynn said.

The same day, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board revealed that three additional applications for the state’s remaining Category 3 casino licence were filed during a special 90-day window authorised by the state legislature. The licence permits a hotel resort to operate up to 600 slot machines and up to 50 table games.
