Mark Campbell, 53, has been charged with the murder of his wife, Olga Pleguezuelos, 35.

Ms Pleguezuelos, marketing manager for Aristocrat Europe, was found dead at her Harrow-on-the-Hill, London, home on Monday, October 19. A post mortem showed that she had died from multiple stab wounds.

Mr Campbell, the former chief information officer of International Leisure Development, was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital suffering from neck and wrist injuries. He was discharged on Thursday night before being questioned by police, who said he had subsequently been charged with her murder.

Ms Pleguezuelos had worked for 10 years at Aristocrat and was due to relocate to the company’s Las Vegas office later this year to support its Latin American operations.

Last week, Ms Pleguezuelos’ sister Eva told the media that her family were “devastated” by the tragedy.

She said: “It’s very difficult to cope with the idea that such a young person like Olga has died. She wanted to be independent, free, and be able to exercise her career as she thought fit.”

In a statement released to the media last week, a spokesman for Aristocrat said the company was “deeply shocked” by the news.

“To all those who knew her, Olga was a breath of fresh air,” he said. “She will be greatly missed by all her friends and colleagues at Aristocrat.

“Counselling has been offered to all staff, and the company will consult Olga’s family and friends to formulate an appropriate memorial in the coming days.”

InterGame understands that details of her funeral have yet to be announced.
