Gambling location real estate investment trust Gaming and Leisure Properties has closed its acquisition of Bally’s Casino Tunica and Resorts Casino Tunica for US$84.9m.

In addition to the US acquisitions, the group announced its second quarter results for the year that show net revenues of US$243.4m against a comparative result from last year of $207.4m. Net income was $96.3m compared with $73.3m.

CEO Peter Carlino commented: “On May 1, 2017, we completed the acquisition of the Bally’s Casino Tunica and Resorts Casino Tunica for $82.9m. These assets were added to the master lease with Penn and will generate $9m of incremental annual rent.”

GLP owns 38 casinos, 20 of which are leased to Penn, 15 to PNK and one to Casino Queen in Illinois. Two others, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Perryville, Maryland, are operated by a subsidiary, GLP Holdings.
