An auction is to be held to sell off three plots of land in Primorye, near Vladivostock in the far east of Russia - all with the promise of a casino licence.

Casino land auction

At the beginning of July, the Russian government took over the running of the casino region because of the slow pace of development there. August 28 is the deadline for bids on the three parcels of land.

One has 17 acres and will need US$120m to build a four-star hotel and casino that will be licensed to have 100 tables and 500 slots; another has three acres of land and will need $210m for a casino and hotel with the same number of tables and slots; and the third parcel of 50 acres has a $300m price-tag for a casino with a park.

The only casino to open in Primorye so far as been Summit Ascent of Hong Kong, although NagaCorp is said to be ready to start on its own proposal.
