An increase of 21.6 per cent in revenue is reported by Aristocrat Leisure in its half-year report, released yesterday.

Revenue was A$1.2bn compared with $1bn in the comparative period of last year. EBITDA was up 34 per cent at $498.9m and net profit after tax was up 49 per cent at $272.9m.

The results go to May 31 and confirm the forecast profit expectations for the full year, which ends in September. In a statement, the company said that the results "reflected the strong performance delivered across the group’s global portfolio, particularly growth in Aristocrat’s Americas, digital and international Class III businesses, supported by sustained momentum in Australia."

A dividend of 14 cents per share has been authorised, an increase of four cents on last year’s first half. Said CEO Trevor Croker: “We delivered outstanding results over the first half of fiscal 2017. Industry leading content, hardware and technology translated into exceptional operational performance despite competitive market conditions.” He said that the company would continue to grow its core business while investing "wisely" to capture attractive opportunities in adjacent segments and markets.
