Resorts World Las Vegas has announced that Edward Farrell has been appointed its president.

Farrell is a long-term veteran of the industry and will operate Las Vegas’ first new-build resort to be undertaken in almost 10 years. Resorts World Las Vegas is scheduled for completion by 2020.

Farrell started in the industry at MGM Reno 30 years ago and has had a long and distinguished career in the casino industry, in Nevada, Mississippi, Connecticut and New York, including Native American operations. He arrives at RWLV from Foxwoods and MGM in Connecticut, and he was regional vice-president of finance for the mid-south region of Harrah’s Entertainment.

RWLV is a $4bn development on the site of the former Stardust casino. Part of the Genting group, it will employ 3,000 people.
