The Middelkerke Casino on the Belgian coast will change hands in September.

Middelkerke

Waterland, the Dutch-based equity company, through its Belgian subsidiary Napoleon Games, is taking over the licence with a 15-year permit. It plans to close the traditional building on the seafront and build a completely new futuristic hotel-casino complex overlooking the beach.

The casino will be housed in temporary premises while the construction work on the new casino takes place. Napoleon Games has two of the nine Belgian A licences, each entitling it to run a casino. It also has an A+ licence to operate online casino slots in Belgium.

Napoleon group already has the licence for the neighbouring Knokke Casino. Rank was the previous holder of the licence at Middelkerke.

The new design for the casino (see artist’s impression) is super-modern in the form of a great arch and skillfully combines space inside for the casino, an hotel and food and beverage and other leisure content. It will take up to two years to complete and open.
