Analysts Vitaly Umansky of Bernstein and Cameron McKnight of Wells Fargo both expect to see another month of growth for Macau gaming revenues.

Umansky expects growth of between three and five per cent. He said that VIP play had been negatively impacted between October 11-16 due to the visit from Chinese premier Li Keqiang but that overall there had been a recovery of VIP volume in the month.

McKnight meanwhile forecasts gaming revenue to grow between four and seven per cent in October.

He added that revenue has benefitted from above-average VIP hold but revenues dropped 50 per cent the second week of the month, more than the historical 40 per cent drop off.
