The US state of Nevada recorded a drop in gambling revenue in March, despite receiving a record amount of wagers on sports betting.

According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, total casino win in March came in at $922m, a three per cent drop from the $951m posted the previous year.

Revenue generated by table games fell 3.22 per cent year-on-year to $305.6m, while revenue from slot machines was also down 2.95 per cent to $616.6m.

The state did see sportsbook wagers amount to a record $458m in March, although operators kept just 2.1 per cent of this total compared to 4.5 per cent last year.
