CLSA analyst Aaron Fischer believes that Macau will see a gross gaming revenue increase of one per cent in 2016 compared to 2015.

Macau

Last year casinos in Macau saw revenues hit $28.85bn after 18 months of consecutive declines in revenue.

However, Fischer, CLSA’s regional head of consumer and gaming research, said: “The first half will still be quite difficult and we expect general gaming revenues to be down around 20 per cent. But as we move towards the end of the year, it will improve somewhat and in the second half of the year we expect positive growth.”

The increase Fischer is predicting for Macau comes from the opening of new casino resorts in 2016. Currently many other financial analysts are holding off on annual predictions.
