Melco Crown Entertainment’s $3.2bn Hollywood-inspired integrated casino resort in Macau, Studio City, opened its doors on Tuesday.

The star-studded grand opening was attended by a host of celebrities, including Hollywood legends Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brett Ratner, and international chart-topping singer Mariah Carey.

Melco Crown’s co-chairmen, Lawrence Ho and James Packer, were on hand to officially open the property.

Located on Cotai, the new resort features an Art Deco façade, which includes the Golden Reel, the world’s highest figure-of-eight Ferris wheel.

Studio City’s casino opens with 200 gaming tables and more than 1,200 gaming machines in operation.

In addition, the property boasts a 5,000-seat entertainment centre, a 4D Batman-themed flight simulator and a 40,000sq.ft Warner Bros. Fun Zone family entertainment centre.
