Sands China maintained top spot in Macau in terms of market share of casino gross gaming revenue during August, according to industry figures compiled by GGRAsia.

The Macau operations unit of Las Vegas Sands Corporation moved to a share of 25.3 per cent in August, up from its 23.8 per cent share in the previous month.

SJM Holdings, founded by gaming tycoon Stanley Ho, regained second place in the Macau market in the month, gaining 160 basis points of GGR share month-on-month to end August on 21.9 per cent.

Galaxy Entertainment Group dropped to third spot, losing 130 basis points to end the month on 21.3 per cent. Melco Crown Entertainment was in fourth place with a share of 13.6 per cent, losing 60 basis points month-on-month.

Wynn Macau was in fifth spot with a GGR market share of 9.5 per cent in August, followed by MGM China Holdings, finishing the month on 8.4 per cent.
