Genting and the South Korea-based Lotte Group have submitted a proposal to develop what it described as a large casino resort at North Port in Busan.
The proposal is one of 34 casino projects that have been submitted to the South Korean government. Lotte would build the hotels, retail stores and water sports facilities at the casino.
Two of the 34 bids are expected to be selected to move forward by November.
The resort would be Genting’s second major development in South Korea with the company already developing the $2.2bn Resorts World Jeju on Jeju Island with Landing International.
