Sam Tai casino in Blackpool, UK, has closed, leaving three casinos in the popular seaside town.
Previously operating under the Paris Casino name, the venue was taken over by State Casino of Liverpool at the start of 2014 and a significant investment in the facilities followed.
However, although the new management team was able to increase income and attendance, it was “not to the extent needed to make the business profitable,” said general manager Dov Haase.
All 50 members of staff have lost their positions, although the majority have found alternative employment, he added.
