There is another potential integrated resort project in South Korea, with Hong Kong conglomerate Chow Tai Fook planning a $2.6bn casino near Incheon airport near Seoul.

Chow Tai Fook could have approval from the government to move forward with the project some time this year, an Incheon city official said. The project is expected to include a foreigners-only casino, hotel, retail space and entertainment and convention facilities, to be developed in two stages between 2015 and 2019 and 2019 and 2022.

The site is near both the Caesars-led consortium casino project and the planned resort by Sega Sammy and Korea’s Paradise Co. Genting is also planning a $2.2bn casino with Landing International on Jeju Island in South Korea.

Chow Tai Fook has also set its sights on casinos in Vietnam and Australia.
