Interblock has appointed John Connelly as its global chief executive officer.

His extensive background in the gaming sector, in both the US and international markets, will help provide the Slovenia-based multiplayer manufacturer with “the necessary leadership to increase its market position, revenue and profitability in the years to come.” Connelly has more than 23 years of experience in gaming and was most recently a member of Bally Technologies’ executive committee. In 2004 he joined Bally as vice president of governmental markets and was promoted in 2005 to vice president of international.

In 2011 he was appointed to the executive committee as vice president of M&A and business development, while in January of 2014 the interactive division was added to his list of responsibilities, along with a senior vice president title. 

Before Bally he served as vice president of sales and marketing for Automated Wagering International and as a senior account executive for GTECH Corporation. “Our search for a global CEO was a strategic undertaking, one that valued long-term commitment and customer-focused direction,” said Joc Pececnik, Interblock’s owner and chairman.
