According to court papers filed on Friday, November 14, the Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City will close on December 12.

Trump Entertainment Resorts, which operates the Taj Mahal, had planned to close the casino on November 13 but the closure was delayed while the company won court approval to cut pension and benefits of employees.

However, desired state tax concessions were not forthcoming and attorneys for Trump Entertainment Resorts said in papers filed in federal bankruptcy court on Friday that, as a result, the venue would close “around December 12.”

Four other Atlantic City casinos have already closed in 2014 as the resort’s fortunes continue to fade – although it has been reported that Revel will reopen in 2015.
