Myanmar is still working on completing a gambling bill and hasn’t issued any casino licences yet, according to a spokesman for the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.

The comment follows reports on social media in the country that three and four-star hotels along the borders were being allowed to operate foreigner-only casinos.

Tourism has been on the upswing since the 2011 reforms in Myanmar. The country welcomed two million foreign arrivals to the country last year, about double the number in 2012.
