Penn National Gaming is to open its new Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Ohio, US, next month.

The operator revealed that the new $250m gaming property, which is to create 400 permanent employees, will open its doors to the public on September 17. A second grand opening will be held on November 24, when thoroughbred racing begins at the new one-mile, all-weather racetrack.

“We’re already in high gear and look forward to welcoming guests with a unique gaming and entertainment experience for this region,” said Mike Galle, general manager of the new facility. “The building itself is nearing completion, we’re continuing to build our team, and we anticipate large crowds when we open the doors on Wednesday, Sept. 17.”

Once its doors open next month, Hollywood Gaming will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Penn National gaming operates 27 facilities in 18 jurisdictions, featuring in excess of 30,000 gaming machines and 790 gaming tables.
