Following the news that the Russian government is to establish a gambling zone in Crimea, the organisers of the Russian Gaming Week trade show are planning to hold an event in Yalta next month.

Crimea

Last week, the Russian State Duma approved a bill to establish gambling zones – where casinos will be permitted – in Crimea and Sochi. Although the exact location of each is yet to be determined, the plan is to attract additional investment in the Crimean economy.

Smile Expo, which hosted the Moscow show in June, said interest shown towards the new gambling zone prompted it to unveil its plans to organise the Crimea Gaming Congress on August 22.

The aim is to attract market and legal experts, gambling operators and representatives from the authorities.

Full details of the event are to follow, Smile Expo said.
