Russian President Vladimir Putin has introduced a bill to allow casinos in Crimea.
The Crimean government intends to designate one site for casinos rather than permit them throughout the territory. Russia already has four regions designated for casinos, but they are in remote locations and have not attracted development, though Melco Crown and Naga Corp are developing casinos in Vladivostok on the Pacific coast north of China.
Crimea, with mild weather, beach resorts and proximity to Europe, should prove more attractive.
